Soliris Village Returns for a Second Edition: Brussels Celebrates International Solidarity at the Stock Exchange Square.

Following a memorable first edition in 2024, Soliris.brussels is pleased to announce the return of the Soliris Village on Saturday, 20 June 2026, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., at Brussels Stock Exchange Square (Place de la Bourse). This unique event will bring together Brussels-based international solidarity actors to celebrate the initiatives led by municipalities, associations and diaspora organisations, while encouraging citizens to get involved.

A Key Event for International Solidarity in Brussels

The Soliris Village is much more than a networking event. It is a space for exchange, inspiration and collaboration for everyone who believes in meaningful international solidarity rooted in local action. The Brussels-Capital Region is home to a wealth of citizen-led and municipal initiatives that engage directly with residents and contribute to global solidarity.

Supported by Brussels International, the Soliris.brussels platform now brings together more than one hundred members, including municipalities, associations and diaspora organisations. Its mission is to coordinate efforts, foster knowledge sharing and support local actors in developing their projects.

For one afternoon, the Soliris Village will transform Brussels Stock Exchange Square into a vibrant space for participatory democracy. The objective is clear: to demonstrate how every citizen can make a difference, how municipalities and associations work hand in hand, and how the Brussels-Capital Region supports this dynamic.

Au programme de cette après-midi d’action

  • Association and Municipal Information Stands. Discover concrete initiatives carried out across the Brussels region and meet the people who make them happen every day.
  • Debates and Workshops. Exchange ideas with experts and practitioners on international cooperation, global citizenship education and project management.
  • Community Activities and Entertainment. Enjoy a festive and inclusive atmosphere designed to encourage encounters, dialogue and collective engagement.

Strengthening Citizen Engagement

“Knowing that you are not alone is reassuring, and that you can always turn to the team if needed”, says Catherine Deroover from Woluwe-Saint-Pierre. This sense of community and mutual support is precisely what the Soliris Village aims to share with the public.
